Paws for thought
Originally intended just as a good way to keep bookmarks online (in the days before del.icio.us) but has evolved into collections of things that intrigue me.....or are just plain daft.

Mostly the latter.

AlterNet: What Is It About Harry? - sure, we've all heard the far-right evangelists bleating on about how Master Potter is an unhealthy influence on young children - what with his magic skills and the fact he's encouraging them to [shock, horror, gasp] read. But I think they'd spontaneously combust if they thought the closet under the stairs wasn't the only one to which Harry was confined.

Better not tell them about this amusingly convincing article. They have a hard enough time differentiating between fact and fantasy as it is....

Spanish version of "Smash up your computer" - , the monitor blowing out is very gratifying and it lets you pound the living daylights out of the mouse and the keyboard long after they've gone to that great repair shop in the sky.

ticketdefense - this entire page is based on a cop inadvertantly getting the date wrong on a speeding ticket.

You have to admire the offender for exploiting the error quite so outrageously.

(And respect to the New Zealand Police for seeing the funny side of it all)

The Most Frequently Requested Sherman's Lagoon Cartoon - I've been a fan of Sherman's logoon for a long time but I'd never seen this one before. The rest of the site is worth checking out too.

Dogtoy or Marital Aid - You decide.

...because I'm too busy trying to work out what kind of person would have a 'toy' collection that is quite so ambiguous.

Cow Stickers - no fridge should be without them....

(Yes, it's another weird product from those nice people at I WAnt One of Those - the only online store I actually enjoy browsing)

Related to this is Send a Cow - livestock for life. I'm wondering what the postage is on one of thosre things...?

ZEN-STYLE | Fool's World Map - 60% percent of Americans don't even have a passport. Evidently this is the result.

Sadly their lack of geographic knowledge doesn't appear to stop them when it comes to invading other countries.

Kingdom Hospital of Maine - I'm not a big Stephen King fan but this series got me hooked (forgive the pun). The last episode aired in the UK last night. The last time I trotted off to bed feeling quite so apprehensive was after I saw the X-files episode "Squeeze".

If you've seen the show, you'll be impressed by this site. If not, be prepared for a few surprises.
