"I was in the Green Room at the BBC with the wonderful Professor Germaine Greer last week prior to my appearance on the rather highbrow Newsnight Review.
The conversation turned, somewhat unexpectedly, to Big Brother, which I don't watch. However, I have been following the coverage of the alleged "fat pig" Jade, and made sympathetic noises about the monstering of the poor woman, fully expecting Germaine to chime in with a sisterly condemnation of vicious misogynist media or a brilliant deconstruction of sexist stereotyping of female body image.
"Ah bullshit," said Germaine, briskly. "That fat slag deserves all she gets."
