Paws for thought
Originally intended just as a good way to keep bookmarks online (in the days before del.icio.us) but has evolved into collections of things that intrigue me.....or are just plain daft.

Mostly the latter.

Pot of George - a follow up to my Wednesday, February 26, 2003 entry. This is Simon's blog. It's well worth reading. The guy is witty, intelligent, a good writer, has a well developed social conscience and - best of all - while most of us are talking about making a difference, he's actually doing it.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art - Events & Programs: Programs at The Cloisters - definitely my favourite museum in New York, very relaxed and probably has the only Medieval bricks 'n mortar in the country

(the fact that two of my favorite New Yorkers live just round the corner doesn't hurt either....)

The Unofficial Official Simulator -
"The Official Simulation Act of 2002 created the Dept. of Official Simulation (DoOS) and tasked it with minimizing time wasted on media availability by certain U.S. Government officials who have been designated as essential to national security.

DoOS makes available for press conferences and interviews simulated officials virtually identical to the originals with regard to talking points, lucidity and veracity."

I asked Cheney if he knew whether the microphone was on this time....

Caveman Tech Support

The tech support problem dates back to long before the industrial revolution, when primitive tribesmen beat out a rhythm on drums to communicate:

This fire-help. Me Groog.

Me Lorto. Help. Fire not work.

You have flint and stone?

Ugh.

You hit them together?

Ugh.

What happen?

Fire not work.

(sigh) Make spark?

No spark, no fire, me confused. Fire work yesterday.

*sigh* You change rock?

I change nothing.

You sure?

Me make one change. Stone hot so me soak in stream so stone not burn Lorto hand. Small change, shouldn't keep Lorto from make fire.

(Grabs club and goes to Lorto's cave) *WHAM*WHAM*WHAM*

HAMSTER FOR PRESIDENT CAMPAIGN OFFICIAL HOME PAGE "Meet Potus, the hamster who was born for the presidency...unlike the current occupant of the White House, Potus is gentle and harmless, and he faithfully promises that if elected he will remain a humble and sensible hamster who will run on his wheel all night, sleep all day, and let you, the voters, govern yourselves. No matter who is elected in 2004, there will be a "POTUS" in the White House. This web site exists to help you choose the right one."
